Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Gohar Khan has approached the Supreme Court for fair and transparent elections and providing a level playing field. In order to provide a transparent and level playing field for general elections, PTI has submitted Article 184 of the Constitution in the Supreme Court. Filed an application under (3). Federal government, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and provincial governments were made parties in the petition.
In the petition, it was requested that the Supreme Court should issue instructions to the parties for a level playing field and transparent elections. Nomination papers are being taken away from the candidates. PTI should be given equal right to participate in elections.
Apart from this, Tehreek-e-Insaf also approached the Election Commission against the harassment of the candidates and for not providing a level playing field. Concerns have been expressed. Nomination papers are not being given to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf candidates by DROs in some districts, the petition stated that the offices of DROs and ROs have been closed in some districts.
