Mohammad Yusuf shared important tips with Pakistani players before the second Test match

One should evaluate the situation and decide on the basis whether it is suitable to play aggressively or not, if the conditions are not favorable for aggressive play, then it becomes difficult to adopt an aggressive style: Ex-Captain

Renowned former Pakistan batsman Muhammad Yousuf shares tips with Abdullah Shafiq and Saud Shakeel as they prepare for the upcoming second Test against Australia. In an interview, Mohammad Yusuf highlighted the importance of developing a strong technique especially for the players going into their opening tour of Australia.

Abdullah Shafique and Saud Shakeel have gone to Australia for the first time, many players are struggling, you need to be technically strong, have a strong fighting spirit, maintain a solid technique and be patient on the field, said Muhammad Yusuf.

Yes, if necessary adapt the wicket to the conditions and see how the bowler is bowling. Muhammad Yusuf further emphasized that one should assess the playing conditions and based on that assessment decide whether aggressive play is appropriate or not. If the nature of the ball or the conditions are not conducive to aggressive play, then it becomes difficult to adopt an aggressive style.

Mohammad Yousuf also mentioned the importance of mental resilience in Pakistani players, highlighting their commendable psychological preparation. Again he emphasized the undeniable importance of having the right technique. Muhammad Yousuf recently served as the head coach of the Pakistan U-19 team during the U-19 Asia Cup where his team lost to the UAE U-19 in the semi-finals.

It should be noted that Pakistan suffered a crushing defeat against Australia in the first Test played in Perth and lost by a huge margin of 360 runs. The home team set a tough target of 450 runs, eventually bowling out the visitors for 89 runs. Abdullah showed his batting skills by scoring 41 runs in the first innings but in the second innings he faced an early dismissal with just 2 runs. On the other hand, Saud Shakeel scored 28 runs in the first innings and was then dismissed for a solid score of 24 runs in the second innings.
