Denying the increase in winter vacations, the caretaker government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced the opening of schools in the plains of the province. According to the details, the Education Department of KP has said that there is no truth in the news circulating on social media about winter vacations, educational institutions in the plains of the province, including Peshawar, will open as usual on January 1, 2024.

The education department has further said that the news circulating on social media has been made viral by attributing it to the provincial education minister and the news talks about extending the winter vacation till January 13, 2024, which is false. On the other hand, winter vacations have been increased by the Punjab government.

A provincial cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of caretaker chief minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, in which it was decided to extend the winter vacation in schools. There will be additional vacations, in this regard all the institutions are directed to follow the winter vacation procedures and resume the teaching process from January 10.

Earlier, the winter holidays were till January 1, the news of extending the holidays of all the educational institutions of the Punjab province was coming out. The consideration of extending the period was started. It was told that due to the increase in the severity of the cold, the Provincial School Education Department was considering an increase in the holidays by one week. Considering the severity of the incident, parents also demanded an increase in holidays.

Meanwhile, the Department of Literacy and Non-Formal Education has announced the winter vacations in non-formal schools. In this regard, the notification has revealed that the vacations in these educational institutions will start from January 1 and will continue until January 10.
